Equipment warranties (panels, inverters, batteries) come from the manufacturer, not the installer, so they usually survive an installer bankruptcy. Keep your serial numbers and contact the manufacturer directly.
Workmanship warranties (roof penetrations, wiring, the install itself) came from the installer. When the installer is gone, that coverage usually goes with it, or becomes a claim in the bankruptcy.
Lease or PPA: you do not own the equipment. Whoever now owns your agreement is responsible for repairs under it. Keep paying unless the owner tells you otherwise in writing, and report problems to them in writing.
Loan: you own the system and still owe the lender. The loan does not go away because the installer did. Repairs are now up to you, which is where an independent contractor comes in.
Paid cash: you own the system outright. Use the manufacturer warranties for failed equipment and a licensed contractor for everything else.
Lease or PPA: SunStrong Management, or the servicer on your most recent bill.
Failed equipment: the manufacturer on your panel or inverter label.
Owned system (cash or loan) that needs repair: a licensed independent contractor. That is us.
