Solar Panel Removal & Reinstall in Alachua County, FL
Replacing a roof in Gainesville or anywhere in Alachua County and have solar panels in the way? AllSolar Energy provides solar panel removal and reinstallation — the detach and reset, temporary solar panel removal, or solar R&R your roofer needs before the tear-off. We uninstall the array, your roofer replaces the roof, and we reinstall the system correctly. Licensed and doing this work since 1999.
An early-solar town with roofs now due for replacement
Gainesville and Alachua County adopted rooftop solar earlier than most of Florida, which means a lot of those arrays are now sitting on roofs that need replacing. When it’s time, the solar has to come off first. We remove the panels, racking, and conduit, protect the equipment, and reinstall once the new roof is on and inspected. As a licensed solar contractor we handle the electrical disconnect and reconnect, re-seal every penetration, and confirm the system is producing before we leave.
Some of those older systems were installed by companies that are no longer around. If yours was, we can still service and reinstall it — adopting orphaned arrays is one of the things we do best.
Cities we serve in Alachua County
Our detach and reset crews cover Gainesville, Alachua, Newberry, High Springs, Archer, Hawthorne, and Waldo. For local repair and maintenance, see our Alachua County solar service page.
Tree cover, limbs, and shaded roofs
Alachua County’s heavy oak and pine canopy is beautiful, but it drops limbs and drapes roofs in shade. Reroofs here often follow storm or tree damage, and panels sometimes need to be pulled so a damaged section can be rebuilt. We lift and reset the array cleanly, and while it’s down we can flag any modules or wiring that tree debris has damaged so nothing questionable goes back up.
Solar pool heaters and hot water panels come off too
Not every solar roof in Alachua County is electric. Plenty of homes have solar pool heaters or solar hot water collectors, and those block a reroof just the same. Most roofers won’t remove them. AllSolar detaches and reinstalls solar pool heating and solar water heating systems for roof replacements, drains and recharges the loops, and leak-checks before reactivating. We handle PV, pool heat, and hot water — most solar companies only do PV.
How we coordinate with your roofer
Call us as soon as your reroof is scheduled. We remove the solar right before the tear-off and return to reinstall once the roof passes inspection. Roofing contractors in the Gainesville area use AllSolar as their solar detach and reset partner so their crews never touch a live array. Homeowners can start on our main solar panel removal and reinstall page.
All brands, including orphaned systems
We reinstall every major brand — Enphase, SolarEdge, Tesla, SunPower, Panasonic, Q CELLS and more — and we specialize in orphaned arrays whose installer went out of business, including Titan, Pink Energy, and Blue Raven. If your original company is gone, we’ll adopt the system, reset it, and get it running. More than 80 Florida companies refer this work to us.

Frequently Asked Questions
My solar was installed years ago by a company that’s gone. Can you reinstall it?
Yes. Alachua County has a lot of early solar, and we regularly adopt orphaned systems, including Titan, Pink Energy, and Blue Raven arrays. We remove, reinstall, and get the system producing again for your reroof.
A tree damaged part of my roof. Can you pull just the panels over that section?
Yes. We can remove the panels needed for a repair or partial reroof and reset them afterward. While the array is down we’ll flag any modules or wiring damaged by limbs so nothing compromised goes back up.
Do the panels have to come off to replace my roof?
Yes. A roofer can’t install a new roof under an array, and most won’t warranty work around one. The panels, racking, and wiring are removed first and reinstalled on the finished roof.
How much does solar removal and reinstall cost in Gainesville?
It depends on system size, panel count, and roof type. We provide a firm, itemized quote after inspecting your system, with no hidden fees. Ask for the estimate before your reroof is scheduled.
