Solar Panels And Battery

Solar panels with battery storage for Central Florida homes. New installations and upgrades. Licensed contractor. Free estimates.

Solar panels without storage send excess power to the grid during the day, then you buy power back at night. Adding a battery lets you store that daytime power and use it when you need it—especially valuable during outages or if you want to shift when you use electricity.

AllSolar Energy designs and installs solar photovoltaic systems with battery storage for homes across Central Florida. We can add battery backup to an existing system or design a new one from the ground up with panels and storage together. We also service and repair systems—including ones abandoned by their original installers—and upgrade them with batteries if that's what you want.

How solar and battery storage work together

During the day, your panels produce electricity. With battery storage, you can keep that power in the battery instead of sending it to the grid. At night or during cloudy weather, you draw from the battery before buying power from the utility. In an outage, the battery keeps selected circuits running. Battery size and type affect how much power you can store and how long it lasts. We discuss options during the estimate.

Adding battery to an existing system

If you already have solar panels, we can add battery storage in most cases. The retrofit depends on your current equipment and how the system is wired. We evaluate the setup, explain what's involved, and give you an estimate for the upgrade. Some older systems need rewiring or component changes to work with modern batteries.

Solar Panels And Battery: common questions

How much does a home battery cost?

Battery cost varies widely by capacity, chemistry, and brand. We discuss options and pricing during your estimate so you can compare. The right choice depends on your budget, how much storage you need, and how often you'll use it.

How long will a home battery last?

Battery lifespan depends on chemistry, usage, and conditions. Warranty and longevity details are covered during your estimate. Real-world performance varies based on how often the battery cycles and how hot your installation environment gets.

Can I add a battery to panels I already have?

Often yes, but it depends on your current inverter and wiring setup. Some systems need equipment upgrades or reconfiguration to add storage. We assess your existing system and tell you what's involved during a free site visit.

Does a home battery keep the power on during an outage?

Yes, as long as the battery is charged and sized to run the circuits you've selected. The system automatically detects an outage and switches to battery power. Once the battery is depleted, power depends on whether the sun is producing enough to recharge it.
