A solar pool heating system is usually simpler than a photovoltaic installation—it uses collectors to heat water that flows through your existing pool circulation pump. Water from your existing pool pump flows through solar collectors mounted on a roof or ground frame, gets heated by the sun, and flows back to your pool. A simple control system manages the process. On cloudy days or at night, the system bypasses the collectors and your pool temperature gradually cools. No complex equipment or separate pump needed.
Pool size, desired temperature, location and sun exposure, and your existing circulation pump all factor in. Larger pools and pools in shade need bigger systems. We'll size the system during your estimate. Roof collectors are most common, but we can also do ground mounts if your property allows it.
Installation typically takes two to five days depending on system size and roof work. Permitting is required. After installation, the system needs minimal maintenance—occasional collector cleaning and checking circulation lines. We can set up annual inspections to make sure everything stays in good shape.

Solar heating typically raises water temperature 6 to 15 degrees over ambient, depending on system size, sun exposure, and season. Larger systems heat faster. In summer, most pools stay comfortably warm. In winter, you get extended season but not constant 85-degree water.

On cloudy days, heating slows significantly because less sun reaches the collectors. At night, the system is shut off and your pool cools gradually. You can use a pool cover to reduce heat loss overnight.
